Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is a leader in providing airline passenger in-seat power supply systems (ISPS). The EmPower line of cabin power systems, with its patented power management technology, was the first ISPS developed and installed on commercial aircraft in 1996. Since then Astronics has continued to develop innovative products; including integrated AC/DC seat power boxes for in-flight entertainment (IFE) and passenger electronic devices, products designed in response to higher passenger power demands, and flexible solutions for a new generation of IFE products.
This leadership has earned Astronics the distinction of being selected as the sole ISPS provider for the Boeing 787. In fact, EmPower products are available as line-fit options on all current models of Airbus and Boeing aircraft as well as on Embraer 170/190 series aircraft. Astronics’ customer base includes over 125 aircraft operators, with EmPower installed at more than 300,000 seats.
Astronics AES is a wholly owned subsidiary of Astronics Corporation, a leader in advanced, high-performance lighting, electrical power and automated test systems for the global aerospace and defence industries. Astronics AES is based in Redmond, Washington, USA, with worldwide sales and support offices in Redmond, Basel (Switzerland), São Paulo (Brazil), and San Salvador (El Salvador).
