STG Aerospace is generating record demand for its photoluminescent (PL) floorpath marking system, SafTGlo. The UK-based company, its US subsidiary and worldwide sales network delivered ‘best ever’ sales results in its latest financial year, up 11% on the previous year and representing the ninth successive year of growth for the company. Demand is driven by customers who recognise the benefits of investing in innovation to boost safety and cut costs, especially with pay-back periods often well under a year.

SafTGlo can reduce costs on a Boeing 767 by up to US$45,000 per annum, while STG says its new award-winning, maintenance-free, wireless emergency lighting power system, WEPPS, will save more than twice that amount. WEPPS also delivers ‘fit for life’ performance and reliability (requiring no scheduled maintenance) – critical benefits in the current economic climate.
WEPPS manages and powers emergency lighting systems, with a built-in wireless monitoring and diagnostic capability. It has already attracted considerable interest after winning a Crystal Cabin Award in 2008. Airlines in the US, Europe and Far East have all placed orders, with others expected from national and international carriers. STCs are in place for several Boeing variants (the most recent addition being all 737 Classic aircraft) and the BAE146/Avro RJ.
Flourishing sales figures and an impressive third Queen’s Award for Enterprise are testament to STG Aerospace’s commitment to developing innovative and cost-saving products that, most importantly, improve aircraft safety. The company’s mantra is simple – ‘safety doesn’t have to be expensive’.
