Airbase typically carries out refurbishment work, maintenance, overhaul and repairs on over 2,000 pieces of aircraft equipment each week – passenger and crew seats, galleys and galley equipment. Airbase employs a growing team of qualified engineers to handle this work, which is increasingly done both online and on-wing at customers’ own facilities.

Headquartered close to London Gatwick Airport, with a complementary support facility in Crewe in Cheshire, UK, Airbase Interiors was one of the first textile service providers in Europe to attain first tier status in supporting mainstay legacy carriers. Airbase says these carriers have come to rely on it to ensure that their aircraft cabins always look good, meeting customers’ expectations and reflecting the quality of their brands. Airbase provides total textile and supply chain management. From cradle to grave it provides a one-stop offering from design and pattern-making through to manufacture. Airbase has its own cut and sew facilities and works with a wide variety of materials (including leather), producing padded, laminated and plain seat covers and pleated and plain aircraft curtains.

Since the acquisition of the Flight Support Group in 2007, the Airbase Group’s planned growth now supports a total workforce of over 500 employees with a common goal. This is to service and support customers and to attain a level of performance that makes the group the partner of choice of commercial airlines for cabin interiors, maintenance, ground handling and passenger management services.
