Alitalia introduces real-time news in flight, updated every 10 minutes
Alitalia has launched two new services on selected aircraft – World News and Connecting Flights. Through the World News service, a daily newscast is transmitted on the in-flight entertainment (IFE) system. The newscast is produced by Agenzia Giornalistica Italia (AGI), and includes lifestyle, business, current events and sports, in Italian and English. It is updated every 10 minutes, keeping passengers abreast with the main news worldwide while in flight, in real time.
The Connecting Flights service provides passengers with important information on Group Alitalia connecting flights in its Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa and Milan Linate airports. The service is available during the 30 minutes prior to landing and shows the connecting flight number, destination, departure time, and planned departure gate.
Alitalia has introduced several new services in recent months, including inflight video on selected aircraft, a mobile check-in service (passengers receive boarding cards on their mobile phone), and free, unlimited WiFi in its VIP lounges.
