First public outing for EADS Sogerma’s Ultimate 17

EADS Sogerma publicly unveiled its new premium first-class seat, Ultimate 17, at the Aircraft Interiors Middle East (AIME) show, held in Dubai from 28 February to 1 March. The seat was introduced in 2009 to a few clients, but has not been on public display before. The luxury suite concept is designed to provide greater comfort, space, privacy and stowage.

“This was the first public appearance of the seat anywhere in the world. We chose Dubai because of the importance of the Middle Eastern market to EADS Sogerma,” said Didier Guinot, vice president, cabin interior at EADS Sogerma. “Feedback from the show was very good and we are looking forward to the next phase of detailed communications and follow up meetings with the airlines who saw the seat and who we spoke to during the show.”

EADS Sogerma is a fully owned subsidiary of the EADS Group, and is now organised around three activities – the design and manufacture of first- and business-class seats for commercial airlines and VIP aircraft; the design and manufacture of cockpit seats for aircraft and helicopters; and the design, manufacture and assembly of structural parts for Airbus and ATR.

In cabin interiors, EADS Sogerma’s four bestselling seats are the first-class Ultimate 17, and Class 180, the full-flat business-class Solstys, and business-class Evolys, all designed for long-haul travel. This range of products can be entirely customised to meet airlines’ corporate image requirements.
