WestJet to introduce portable IFE device
Skycast Solutions has unveiled its new portable inflight device, the TrayVu Slim, claimed to be the industry’s only portable IFE that features a unique and proprietary clip that frees the tray for food or beverages and provides optimal viewing angles. The design allows airlines to maximise the number of portable units boarded. In June 2012 Canada’s WestJet airline will introduce the new tablet technology, offering a host of pre-loaded content for guests on board its two newest Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft.
“We are excited to introduce the TrayVu Slim on board our two newest WestJet aircraft,” said Marshall Wilmot, WestJet's vice president of product and distribution. “Offering our guests a dynamic inflight entertainment option like this is directly in line with our commitment to deliver a remarkable guest experience.”
As the only portable IFE device with a dual stand/clip for optimum customer enjoyment, the TrayVu Slim offers still-in-theater movies, new release movies, TV shows, children’s programming and more. The device is compact and weighs less than two pounds, which allows airlines to maximize quantities on board. Units offer an airline-specific user interface with user-friendly tablet navigation and will come with complimentary headphones. Along with the technology, complete content uploading and operations support is also provided. The TrayVu Slim program also provides airlines a new transition option if they desire to move to Skycast Solutions' embedded TrayVu system.
