First interior installation for Sukhoi Superjet 100
Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) and Aviastar-SP, a United Aircraft Corporation production facility based in Ulyanovsk, have concluded a cooperation agreement for the interior installation of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100). The SSJ100 production aircraft MSN 95017 to be delivered to Aeroflot arrived in Ulyanovsk from Komsomolsk-on-the Amur for the first interior installation at the Aviastar premises. Than the aircraft will be painted at the Spektr-Avia facility.
Aviastar-SP has allocated a dedicated workspace in a hangar to conduct the interior installation on four SSJ100s simultaneously. Beginning with MSN 95017, the interiors for SCAC customers will be undertaken at this facility by a team of specialists, trained and qualified by SCAC to perform the procedure.
“We believe that the cooperation between SCAC and Aviastar-SP, which has a great experience in the aircraft assembly, will help to ramp up the SSJ100 production. The Aviastar interior mount facility will become an important part of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 Program production chain”, noted SCAC president Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk.
“It is important for us to diversify the product and service range of Aviastar-SP through the participation in cooperation related to the modern UAC products. It will pave the way to effective the use our high potential in terms of both production capacities and skilled personnel”, said Aviastar-SP's director general, Sergey Dementiev.
