SR Technics wins second VIP aircraft contract
SR Technics, part of the Mubadala Aerospace MRO network, has signed its second VIP aircraft contract with an undisclosed Middle Eastern customer. Under the agreement, the aircraft will receive a full cabin refresh and refurbishment to bring it back to an “as new” condition. In addition, a number of complex system modifications, IFE system upgrades and a concurrent heavy maintenance C-Check are planned.
As part of the cabin refresh and refurbishment, multiple materials will be exchanged, following the existing design guidelines and colour schemes currently used on the aircraft. This will include new carpeting and flooring, as well as the reupholstering of seats to bring a luxurious state-of-the-art look, touch and feel to the interior. SR Technics' VIP cabinetry team will hand-craft new furniture and cabinets to improve and optimize in-flight cabin space and functionality, using VVIP standards and finishes. In addition, minor cabin reconfiguration will take place to better suit the customers’ changing operational needs.
Behind the scenes, a full systems modification will be performed, including an upgrade of the satellite communications system with an on-board GSM installation. At the same time, the IFE system will be enhanced, replacing current equipment with industry leading, innovative technologies and high-definition monitors.
“This second contract has been signed in direct response to the quality, intuitive interior design, superb engineering performance and the on-time-delivery of our first VIP aircraft. We are delighted to be building a solid reputation in the industry as a reliable, knowledgeable and trusted partner,” commented André Wall, president at SR Technics. “We relish the opportunity to further showcase our expertise in the VIP arena by returning a timeworn aircraft into one with a state-of-the-art, elegant and comfortable interior.”
“Our underlying aim and passion is to listen to our customers and really get to understand their lifestyle, business and aviation needs to create an aircraft interior that truly reflects and supports personal and operational needs. Customer feedback during the design phase of this project demonstrates this, where our experienced interior design and engineering teams came together to intertwine the new technology requirements with luxurious finishes and realize our customer’s vision,” added Eric Jan, head of VIP interior design at the company.
