Delta to fit B747-400 fleet with new interiors
Delta Air Lines plans to revitalise its fleet of B747-400 aircraft flying primarily from Tokyo-Narita. Between the summer of 2011 and 2012, Delta will equip each of its 16 B747-400s with new fully horizontal flat-bed seats in the BusinessElite cabin, and new economy-class seats featuring on-demand IFE. When reconfigured, the B747s will accommodate 386 passengers with 48 BusinessElite seats and 338 economy-class seats. The investment is part of previously announced plans to invest more than US$1 billion in products and services through 2013. When complete, Delta will offer flat-bed seats on more than 100 transoceanic aircraft, including all B777s, B767s and B747s, and will feature in-seat IFE for both BusinessElite and economy-class customers on all wide-body flights. more...
