Quality Engineer vacancy at Flitetec, Amersham. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will have a strong AS9100 background as a minimum and ideally have an understanding of EASA Part 21 and Part 145.

Hours: 38 hours per week, Mon – Thurs 07.30 – 16.15, Fri – 07.30 – 12.15 Holiday: 24 days per year plus bank holidays
Flitetec design, manufacture, integrate and overhaul cabin interior products and is certified to EASA Part 21 subpart G and EASA Part 145 release. We specialise in vacuum forming of polycarbonate materials, overhauling and producing products such as meal trays, seat backs, aisle side shrouds, centre console fairings, in arm tray liners, cocktail tables, in fills, bump strips, mirrors, threshold strips, monument & galley floor fitting covers. We also design a range of innovative tablet holders and design and integrate power USB conversions into existing seats, including mounting plates, covers and injection moulded escutcheons. Our customers include airlines, OEM seat and interior manufacturers, MRO operators, Leasing companies and 2nd tier interior manufacturers in the UK, Europe, North America, Middle East and Far East.
Supporting the Quality Manager to drive a Quality Culture in manufacturing and be responsible for ensuring shop floor quality standards are being maintained. The Quality Engineer will be working closely with the manufacturing department to drive improvements throughout production.
Overseeing final inspection and production and review of FAIR reports – Supporting internal and supplier audits to AS9100 / EASA Part 21 – Monitoring, measuring and analysis of KPI’s – Root Cause Analysis, Corrective & Preventative action and Non-Conformance reporting, Process Control (SPC), Dealing with Customer and Supplier Rejections, Quality plans in support of tenders and New Product Introduction
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in driving quality improvement in an AS9100 / EASA Part 21 G / Part 145 aerospace quality engineering environment: – HNC/HND/Degree educated – Experience of utilising problem solving techniques such as 6-Sigma, DoE, Global 8D, DMAIC – Experience of FAIRS. Understanding of aerospace quality systems and regulatory standards. Continuous Improvement. Strong process background. Excellent program and time management skills, highly organised and able to work independently as part of a small team
