We plan have this position start work in our temporary facility, Aerion South, at Melbourne-Orlando International Airport. Start date will be contingent upon successful completion of our Design Readiness Review (DRR) anticipated in Q2 2021.
We are seeking a highly experienced aviation supply chain Subcontracts Manager to join our team. The Subcontract’s Managers at Aerion Supersonic are responsible for the overall management of the strategic acquisition process for various aviation systems & structures to support supersonic aircraft development and production. The successful candidates will be responsible for managing the complete acquisition life cycle to include; developing supplier relationships, on-boarding & qualifying new suppliers, negotiating complex terms & conditions, supplier management and subcontract administration.

On any given day you might:

    • Manage of the overall procurement cycle, including any necessary coordination among Aerion’s Integrated Product Teams, various functional support teams, and suppliers, across various functional support teams
    • Manage critical, time-sensitive, and complex issues including; proposal evaluations, contract documentation, and modifications for subcontract changes.
    • Assist in the development of subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialised materials, equipment, and services
    • Develop and monitor performance metrics to include developing and presenting presentations to executive leadership on supplier performance and issues
    • Interact in an integrated team environment by coordinating with Programs, Engineering, Legal, Customer, Finance, and Marketing
    • Lead key supplier negotiations of cost, terms and conditions, development Statements of Work, and long-term agreements. Control costs, manage cost avoidance and perform price analysis as required
    • Manage the import and export of technical data, hardware, software, and qualification artifacts in full compliance with export license regulations
    • Develop and implement risk management plans for significant supplier issues during performance period for suppliers

We’re looking for someone who has:

      • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
      • Experience with Aerospace Supply Management and Program Management
      • Aerospace supply chain management or related manufacturing procurement experience preferred
      • Government subcontracting experience preferred
      • Experience in the development and implementing procedures for the Supply Chain Management organisation
      • Experience in negotiating and communication with all levels of internal and supplier management
      • A thorough understanding of industry standard Purchasing Policies & Procedures
      • A thorough understanding of generally accepted Business Ethics and Codes of Conduct
      • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, FARS, DFARS, Commerciality, etc
      • Knowledge of MRP, PLM, and aircraft development programs
      • Experience in interacting and managing International customer/supplier relationships a plus
      • Attention to detail, enjoy complex problems, excellent communication and organisation skills, project management, negotiation skills
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
    • The work associated with this position will be performed at the designated Aerion facility in either Florida or Reno. Situational telecommuting may be considered and authorised at the discretion of your leader and based upon the role.
