Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) has selected AirFi as the provider of wireless in-flight entertainment (W-IFE) systems across its Airbus A320 and A321 fleet. The Vietnamese carrier, a subsidiary of Sun Group, is aiming to establish itself as a premium ‘resort’ airline. SPA currently has three aircraft, and is aiming to have eight Airbus narrowbodies active in its fleet by the end of 2025.
The collaboration will see AirFi’s portable W-IFE platform, the AirFi Box, installed on SPA’s A320 and A321neo aircraft. AirFi’s technology can be installed rapidly with a Supplemental Type Certificate, so aircraft downtime can be avoided. The system allows passengers to stream entertainment content directly to their personal devices without requiring apps or downloads.
The AirFi service launched on 1st November 2025, alongside the airline’s inaugural commercial flights. Passengers can access a selection of Vietnamese and English-language films, television programmes, music and games through a dedicated portal. The platform also features a section highlighting Phu Quoc Island and Sun Group’s resort properties, supporting the airline’s tourism objectives.
Jane Phan, director for Asia at AirFi, said: “We’re thrilled to support Sun Phuquoc Airways from day one of its operations. SPA embodies Vietnam’s dynamic, forward-looking leisure sector, and our technology will help them deliver a modern, connected in-flight experience that matches their world-class ambitions.”
