Turkish Airlines Airbus A321neo in Cabin Flex configuration

Turkish Airlines has taken delivery of the first Airbus A321neo with a Cabin Flex configuration. Modifications for the Cabin Flex configuration include creating a new rear section on the fuselage, and modifying the passenger door configuration, by removing the door forward of the wing and introducing new overwing emergency exits in the center section. These modifications enable flexible cabin configurations for up to 240 passengers.

The Cabin Flex configuration also introduces a 97 metric tonne MTOW (maximum take off weight) capability and an option for additional fuel capacity, which enables the increased maximum passenger capacity for intra-regional high-density routes, while installing an additional fuel tank enables up to 4,000nm intercontinental range with around 206 passengers. Cabin Flex is an A321neo option today and will become standard for all A321neos by around 2020, according to Airbus.

More details on the Cabin Flex configuration can be found HERE.

Turkish Airlines will operate the aircraft in a configuration with 20 seats in business class and 162 in economy class. In economy, the airline has fitted the new Epianka model from TSI Aviation Seats, with features including a 12in widescreen IFE monitor and a lower literature pocket with multiple stowage sections, which are useful for holding small items such as wallets and smartphones.
