Pelsis Group has launched the Hurricane ES electrostatic fogger for the transport sector, including air and rail operators. The fogger uses electrostatic technology to charge tiny droplets of disinfectant solution to create an ultra-low volume fog that is effective against pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2.
The electrostatically charged micro-particles repel each other as they are dispersed into the atmosphere at high speeds, a process which the company says delivers consistent coverage and stronger adhesion with cabin surfaces.
“The electrostatic functionality of the product gives it the edge and is perfect for high-touch, at-risk areas common across public transport settings,” said Andrew Milner, chief executive at Pelsis Group. “Our technical teams have worked hard to get all the necessary CE approvals for the Hurricane ES. The result is a highly effective product that we believe makes a real difference for transport operators looking to enhance their cleaning and hygiene regimes in the fight against COVID-19.”
Initially made in Jackson, Mississippi, by the Pelsis Group’s USA-based business Curtis Dyna-fog, the company now plans to manufacture the fogger at the group’s UK facility in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, to fulfil domestic and European demand.
