EVA Air’s fourth-generation premium economy seat launch

EVA Air is a notable name in premium economy class, The Taiwan-based airline was the first airline to introduce a premium economy class, when it launched Evergreen Deluxe Class in 1992, with a 38in pitch.

The Taiwan-based airline has now unveiled its fourth-generation premium-economy seat, installed in its newly delivered Boeing 787-9 aircraft – the first of nine due to join the fleet. The airline says the seat takes the premium economy experience from an “upgraded economy” standard to a “business-class-like” experience.

The launch event, titled ‘Focus on Evolution: Taking Off with Heart’ took place at Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corporation’s No. 4 Hangar in Taipei
The features of the new seat were demonstrated on stage
The presenters got comfortable in EVA Air’s new premium economy seats
There are 28 premium economy seats in EVA Air’s Boeing 787-9, arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration
EVA Air’s Boeing Dreamliner premium economy cabin is light and spacious
EVA Air’s B787-9 premium economy cabin is trimmed in pale shades to create a light feel
The seats are fitted with 15.6in high-resolution widescreen IFE monitors from Panasonic Avionics
The EVA Air Boeing 787 premium economy has a space to stow personal devices in the seats
The seats also feature water bottle holders
The seats can be reclined without overly impinging on the space of the passenger behind
The IFE monitors for the front row are mounted on the monument wall
EVA Air strives for great inflight entertainment and service in its premium economy cabins
EVA Air premium economy passengers receive an enhanced food and drink offering
The winged headrests on EVA Air’s new premium economy seats support the head for better sleep
The headrests also incorporate reading lights
Premium economy guests will receive an EVA Air amenity kit, created in partnership with Hunter, the traditional British outdoors brand
