During the COMAC Supplier Conference held in Xi’an, China, the Chinese aircraft manufacturer presented FACC with its Supplier of the Year Award, in recognition of its successful ramp-up of aircraft interiors production throughout 2024.
Until 2023, all components for COMAC’s twin-engine passenger aircraft interiors were produced at FACC’s headquarters in Austria. FACC has now successfully transitioned the manufacturing of components to its partner in China, and has achieved its delivery targets.
FACC has been a development and manufacturing partner of COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) for over 20 years, starting with the development and production of key components for the COMAC ARJ21 (later renamed as C909) 78–90 seat regional jet in 2004.

FACC is responsible for the design, production, qualification and certification of the C909 aircraft interior. FACC is also manufacturing the passenger cabin for the C919 narrowbody aircraft programme, including cockpit panels, the welcome and service area at the rear of the aircraft, and the spoilers and winglets.
The narrow-body aircraft segment in which the C919 operates is experiencing continued strong demand worldwide. According to COMAC’s forecasts, there will be a need for more than 6,000 single-aisle passenger aircraft over the next 20 years. With FACC being one of COMAC’s strategic manufacturing partners, the company sees this is a significant opportunity for growth.
“This award reflects the excellent work of our dedicated teams in Austria and China. We are thankful for their commitment and look forward to continuing our successful partnership with COMAC on the C909 & C919 programmes,” stated Robert Machtlinger, CEO of FACC.
