January 16, 2017 – Following an official handover of documents by TÜV Süd on November 9, 2016, electrical seat actuation systems manufacturer Bühler Motor is now DIN EN 9100 certified (AS 9100C and JISQ 9100:2009) at its sites in Nuremberg and Monheim, Germany.

The certification procedure for the DIN EN 9100 quality management system for manufacturers/service providers in the aviation industry was successfully completed in 12 months, from kick-off through analysis and implementation of the requirements to actual certification.

The content and structure of the EN 9100 series, which was developed by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG), are based on the DIN EN ISO 9001 cross-industry standard.

The standard also contains specific additions and interpretations tailored to the particular needs and requirements of the aerospace industry: for example, the quality management requirements of the aviation authorities, the introduction of a configuration management process appropriate for the product, first article inspection (FAI), risk assessment, verification and traceability and the definition of authorizations, especially for product releases.
