April 5, 2017 – Bahrain’s national carrier, Gulf Air,has selected Recaro’s CL3710 economy class seats for its 10 new Boeing 787-9 aircraft and 29 Airbus 320/321neo aircraft – a contract valued at over 35 million Euros (US$37 million).

According to Maher Salman Al Musallam, Gulf Air’s CEO, the seats fit well into the airline’s new cabin concept, and will create a standardized product across its short and long-haul fleet. The CL3710s will feature individually adjustable headrests, Thales Avant IFE systems and extra legroom for passengers.

Gulf Air’s first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and Airbus 320neo deliveries are scheduled for 2018 and the airline’s A321neo aircraft delivery will start in 2020. In business class, a customized model from B/E Aerospace will be fitted.
