Airbus reveals an incredible A350-1000 first-class suite concept

Long flights in the A350-1000 aircraft would be a pleasure in this concept suite

Airbus reports it is seeing increasing demand from airlines for first-class cabins on its flagship A350-1000 aircraft, and has created a future concept that is as beautiful as it is spacious and luxurious.

The concept, named ‘First Class Experience’ is available for airlines to experience at Aircraft Interiors Expo – sadly via 3D Augmented Reality (AR) rather than a physical mockup –to demonstrate how Airbus can further develop the A350-1000 cabin interior to accommodate a larger first-class cabin. The concept would befit a flagship product on an airline’s flagship aircraft.

Lighting effects in the suite can help passengers work, sleep, relax, or adjust to time zones

The highlight of the experience is First Class Master Suite, conceived by Airbus’s in-house design team. This Master Suite, which is located in the centre between the two aisles of the A350-1000, can accommodate two passengers, offering them exclusive access to a dedicated lavatory, a changing area, a bar, and a double bed.

The suites are large, and to enable the 1-1-1 layout in the A350-1000, the floor area between Doors 1 to Doors 2 is fully maximised to dedicate as much space as possible for the new first-class section.

The suite offers privacy and space to move around on long flights

In particular, says Airbus, cabin floorspace which was previously taken-up with various monuments, such as lavatories or stowages, is now freed-up by relocating them outside of the main revenue are (i.e. passenger accommodation) in a new centre module just behind Doors 1, opposite the cockpit door. Additional privacy for passengers in the suites is provided by relocating the access stairs to the forward crew-rest compartment (FCRC) in the new centre module, reducing the chance of disturbance from the flight crew moving around, for example.

An enhanced ambience

The large size and high ceilings of the A350-1000 are a suitable enabler and backdrop for such a premium product. Moreover, the unique interior proportions of the cabin can be further complemented by a new fascia and sculptured ceiling panels for a greater sense of space, as well as an integrated welcome lighting panel at Doors 1 for extra ambience.

Airbus welcomes visitor feedback to further shape and define the concept.
