Hypercar design + cool jet design = the hypercool Infinito

May 22, 2017 – Airbus Corporate Jets and Pagani, an Italian manufacturer of high-performance cars, have unveiled Infinito, a cabin design for the ACJ319neo, at the EBACE show in Geneva. Pagani is known for using daring styling in its cars, and this strong style is carried into the Infinito cabin, which features a ‘sky ceiling’, a series of panels on the cabin ceiling that can display a live view of the sky above – or indeed other images.

The ceiling is the showpiece of the cabin, but Pagani’s designers have lavished attention on all other elements too, with Airbus Corporate Jets’ designers contributing their aircraft design and compatibility expertise. Curves inspired by nature form a pathway through the cabin, with the nature theme carried through to the shell-shaped valance and the walls between zones. One wall is particularly striking, as it can be switched from opaque to transparent at the touch of a button, to visually divide or open up the lounge and conference areas.

Echoing the distinctive style of Pagani’s automotive interiors, the décor contrasts soft leathers and wooden flooring with high-tech carbon fiber in the furniture and wall surrounds. Sculpted metal features, mirroring those found in Pagani hypercars, feature in the light fittings and other details.

“Art and Science can walk together hand in hand: this is the Pagani philosophy. The combination of state-of-the-art composite materials never used before in an aircraft, such as CarboTitanium, with the typical design language of Pagani Automobili, represents our signature. Applying our renaissance touch into the wider spaces of Airbus corporate jet cabins is the beginning of an exciting new venture for us,” stated Horacio Pagani, founder and chief designer of Pagani Automobili.

“In bringing together the best of the supercar and business jet worlds, we enable an elegant and seamless link for customers of both, while bringing a fresh approach to cabin design and satisfying very demanding standards,” added Airbus Corporate Jets managing director, Benoit Defforge.
