Gilat Satellite Networks, an Israel-based provider of satellite networking technology, solutions and services, has announced today that its Commercial Division has been awarded more than US$60 million in orders from an unnamed “leading satellite operator” for its Stellar Blu ESA Sidewinder in-flight connectivity (IFC) terminals. Deliveries of the terminals are expected to be made over the next 12 months.
These orders, which amount to hundreds of Sidewinder terminals, are intended to support new airline fleet awards for retrofit programmes and the first production run of Sidewinders for a planned OEM linefit terminal for Boeing.
“This momentum is opening significant opportunities to expand into high-value markets like VVIP and special mission aircraft, delivering advanced solutions that meet the most demanding connectivity requirements,” said Tracy Trent, president of Gilat.IFC
