November 1, 2016 – IDAIR has delivered a tailored IFEC and CMS solution on a second B787, for an undisclosed end customer represented by Kestrel Aviation Management. The project was completed at Greenpoint Technologies’ facility in Moses Lake, Washington.

Passengers can control the system using built-in room controllers and remote tablets. There are individual means of control at each of the 16 VIP seat locations, as well as power outlets for personal electronic devices.

The system includes AVOD, Blu-ray players, an interactive moving map and HDMI inputs streamed and synchronized to several large overhead monitors in the VIP rooms. Overhead sound and HD monitors are available in the VIP rooms, as well as headset options for the VIP seating locations. The CMS offers cabin controls for lighting including scenarios, window shades, interior door indication, smoke detector monitoring and water filter monitoring. The passengers can enjoy IP TV, broadband connectivity and mobile telephony.

“The collaboration and teamwork on this aircraft was phenomenal,” said James Aspell, vice president of supply chain at Greenpoint. “Our teams [IDAIR, Kestrel Aviation Management and Greenpoint Technologies] overcame the technical challenges throughout the design, integration and testing phases of the program. We performed as one team, focused on delivering a product and experience that complements this exceptional aircraft and interior.”

“IDAIR’s products contributed positively to our customers’ inflight experience,” said Stephen Vella, CEO of Kestrel Aviation Management. “We have managed this project from original aircraft purchase through cabin design, cabin modification oversight through to entry into service. This completed, Kestrel-curated BBJ 787 has set the bar for all future VVIP wide-body cabin modifications.”
