Thales has signed an agreement to equip Emirates’ Boeing 777X fleet, arriving in 2020, with the latest generation of broadband inflight connectivity using Inmarsat GX Global Network.

Over the years, Emirates has made significant investments in aircraft connectivity, and the airline reports that demand for wi-fi on board has been steadily increasing, with over 800,000 passengers per month connecting while inflight.

Emirates has also recently contracted Thales to fit its 777X fleet with the latest generation Thales Avant IFE systems. The new agreement is part of Emirates’ and Thales’ plans to develop a state-of-the-art IFEC platform for the 777X fleet and boost Emirates’ award-winning inflight passenger experience.
