February 3, 2016 – Aviointeriors has announced that TUIfly Netherlands and Jetairfly – part of TUI Group – have selected the ‘Columbus Crew Rest’ economy class seat model for the retrofit program on two B767-300s.

Columbus Crew Rest is compliant with EASA Class 3 In-flight rest facilities in accordance with EASA regulation ORO.FTL.205(e)(iii). The regulation stipulates one or multiple seat(s) in an aircraft cabin or flight crew compartment that reclines 40° from the vertical, provides leg and foot support and is separated from passengers by at least a curtain to provide darkness and some sound mitigation. This allows the crew to rest during the flight.

“It’s a great opportunity for our company and a beginning of a profitable collaboration with TUI Group”, stated Gianluigi Mormile, senior sales manager at Aviointeriors.
