Varwijk joins Virgin as commercial EVP

June 15, 2015 – Virgin Atlantic has appointed Erik Varwijk as EVP of commercial, responsible for leading all commercial teams across the business including sales and customer engagement, marketing and customer experience, network and alliances and revenue management.

Varwijk will report to Virgin Atlantic CEO Craig Kreeger, who said of the appointment: “We are delighted to have Erik join our leadership team. It’s an exciting time at Virgin Atlantic, with the introduction of our new 787 aircraft, the recent opening of our LA Clubhouse, the new route to Detroit and our overall investment in our customer’s experience. Erik has extensive commercial experience in the airline industry and I am certain he will help us deliver against our plans for long-term success.”

Varwijk joins Virgin Atlantic from Air France KLM Group, where he gained over 25 years’ experience leading and directing a variety of teams across revenue, network and alliances, international markets and marketing. Varwijk was a member of the KLM Managing Board and Group Executive Committee for Air France KLM and some of the key positions he held include EVP of commercial and EVP, international & The Netherlands at Air France KLM.
