Gategroup renews key USA contracts

February 29, 2016 – Gategroup Holding AG has reached an agreement with American Airlines for the extension of its catering and provisioning business. Total revenue over the life of the extension is estimated to exceed CHF 100 million (US$100 million), a sizeable portion of Gategroup’s global business with this airline partner. American Airlines is one of the Group’s top three customers in North America.

The agreement covers multiple domestic and international gateway locations, including a two-year extension of business at American Airlines’ Los Angeles hub. It also entails an extension of business at several Canadian locations and the renewal of American Eagle business at Dallas Fort Worth, with varying expiry dates. In addition, gategroup has been awarded business at several US locations integral to the airline’s harmonization.

“We are delighted to have renewed this repeat business with American Airlines at key international hub markets, while also expanding our partnership to include additional business in strategic locations,” said Xavier Rossinyol, Gategroup CEO. “We are proud of the long-term relationships built with our customers here at gategroup. The new simplified organization, with a strong focus on commercial development and financial discipline, is working. Two of the top three contracts in North America have been renewed in the last few months, significantly enhancing our core business.”
