The winners of the APEX Best Awards were announced during a ceremony at this year’s APEX FTE EMEA show in Dublin, Republic of Ireland. The awards recognise excellence in key elements of the passenger experience, from both global and regional airlines.
The awards are an initiative of APEX (the Airline Passenger Experience Association), a global non-profit and one of the world’s largest international airline associations. The Best Food & Beverage Awards were presented in conjunction with the International Flight Services Association (IFSA).
The methodology
The winners were selected based on more than one million verified passenger votes on flights in each region of the world across over 600 airlines, collated in partnership with TripIt from Concur, the travel-organising app.
Passenger ratings for five critical in-flight passenger experience arenas were also considered: seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, inflight entertainment (IFE) and inflight connectivity (IFC). The TripIt from Concur app provided a single-screen rating system that enabled airline passengers to evaluate their flight experiences in under 15 seconds.
