Icelandair upgrades floorpath systems

Icelandair has begun upgrading its Boeing 757 fleet with the SuperSeal UltraLite (SSUL) photoluminescent emergency floorpath marking system. Currently, all of Icelandair’s 757 aircraft are equipped with the safTglo SuperSeal Lite (SSL) system from STG Aerospace, but following the granting of EASA approval of its successor in December 2014, the airline has selected SSUL for the latest four aircraft additions to the fleet and plans to retrofit existing aircraft during 2015 for scheduled cabin upgrades.

According to STG Aerospace, SSUL incorporates all of the benefits of its predecessors, while being 70% lighter than the previous version, and 17% brighter. The system is a one-piece design with no end caps, meaning that it can be cut to length and sealed during installation.
