KID-Systeme appoints new managing director

KID-Systeme GmbH has a new managing director in the shape of Fokke Mentjes, succeeding Stefan Baten who has assumed a new role at Airbus. Mentjes will work alongside fellow managing director, Peter Schetschine, and will be responsible for the overall business of KID-Systeme, including product development, strategy, operations and finance. Mentjes previously he worked at Airbus Defence and Space, with his last project being A400M avionics program management.

Mentjes is a graduate of the Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH). After finishing his engineering degree in 1999, he started his career at EADS. KID-Systeme belongs to the cabin and cargo family within the Airbus Group, with a product portfolio that encompasses seat power, cabin and cargo safety features, as well as on-board connectivity products and services. 

Mentjes said of his appointment, “I am very excited about the prospect of joining this internationally operating company in the aviation industry, belonging to the top suppliers for electronic cabin systems worldwide. As a member of the Airbus Group and together with a highly motivated and skilled team, we are well prepared to fulfil the needs of our present and future customers.”
