Tapis hires sales manager for Asia Pacific region

Aircraft interior fabrics supplier, Tapis Corporation (Tapis), has hired Dominic Duffy as sales manager for the Asia Pacific region. Duffy will represent Tapis in Singapore, Thailand, China, Australia, Philippines, Hong Kong and Japan, among other Asian nations. He has experience in aircraft manufacturing, structural and non-structural composites and, for the last 20 years, has focused on aircraft interiors and seating systems.

“Dominic has deep experience in the airline seating industry with a diverse range of products, including leather and synthetics,” said Jason Estes, VP of global sales and marketing for Tapis. “He brings great relationships to the table that have been built over 15 years in which he has served as both a sales professional and project manager to some of the biggest airline industry companies in Asia.”

Prior to joining Tapis, Duffy (pictured left) was business development manager for Asia Pacific with Zodiac Cabin Interiors, and regional sales manager for Asia Pacific with Zodiac Seats UK (Contour). In both roles, he liaised between the product sales teams at seating companies and airlines, helping to ensure successful sales and delivery. Subsequent to his work at Zodiac Cabin Interiors and Contour, he worked for leather manufacturer Andrew Muirhead & Son as VP of sales for Asia Pacific.

Duffy is knowledgeable about aviation seat cover materials, synthetic materials and the certification requirements for aircraft cabin interiors, in addition to the design and manufacture of aircraft interiors and systems. With a strong background in project management, Duffy is versed in supporting project managers and clients through implementation. In his position at Tapis, in which he will be based in Malaysia, he will represent the company’s premium portfolio of high-performance textiles.
