Air India has launched Vista, its new wireless inflight entertainment (IFE) service, across its widebody aircraft fleet (except its newly inducted B777 and A350 aircraft, which are fitted with new embedded IFE systems) to provide customers with entertainment until those aircraft are retrofitted with new seatback systems as part of a US$400 cabin refurbishment programme. Vista is also due to become available on  Air India’s narrow-body aircraft fleet.

The Vista W-IFE system is based on Bluebox’s Blueview digital services platform and the content is streamed to customers’ devices in the cabin via Bluebox Wow, a wireless network system that fits in a lunchbox-sized unit that can be deployed in overhead stowage lockers.

The content library available via Vista includes over 950 hours of entertainment options, such as Bollywood blockbusters, Hollywood premieres, content for children, global music and documentaries, as well as a live map display for flight tracking. The service is available via iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS devices.

The Blueview software platform provides both the browser-based portal through which passengers can view and access a range of digital services, such as onboard retail and in-flight entertainment and a moving map, as well as functionality such as secure payment processing, delivery of content, third-party app integration, content management and analytics.
