Austrian tannery Wollsdorf Leder has been awarded with its fourth global Tannery of the Year Award in Shanghai, China. These awards for the global tanning industry are presented by World Leather magazine every year.
Nine Tanneries from five different regions were selected out of 100 tanneries globally. Only two of the nine companies in the final event come from Europe. An independent judging panel made the decision about the winner on a broad range of criteria, such as environmental factors, human resources, cooperation with local communities, economic factors, innovation, technology, quality and customer-supplier relationships.
“It’s a great pleasure and I am highly honored to accept this award at this great event”, stated Andreas Kindermann, CEO of Wollsdorf. “This confirms that our path, to produce high-quality leather with character, is the right one. Our customers understand and appreciate that. We are very proud to be honored with this award and will continue our path.”
