POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide in-house, technical skill capabilities through the utilization of design software programs.  The Interior Designer is responsible for supporting the Chief Designer in the full range of design requirements necessary for VIP interior cabin completion(s).

 

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.      Support Sales and Program Management with the pre and post contract phase of the completion by fulfilling specific requests for configuration definition, material specifications and design research requirements.  This includes pre-PDR, PDR, post-PDR, pre- CDR, CDR and post-CDR meetings.

2.      Work with Sales and willing to travel, to assist with the development of contracts

3.      Read and interpret aircraft mechanical drawings

4.      Generate computer drawings to support Sales and Production such as: LOPA, Interior Elevations, Design Control Drawings and Detailed Design Definition Packages.

5.      Support the aircraft completion from induction through delivery including: final drawing completions based on customer approvals, final material definitions and required support documentation based on Customer approvals, vendor interface on various aircraft component definition that requires Design’s input, engineering support, assist production with the definition of any material specific requirements and quantities and look after the document design of the aircraft as it is built to ensure that it meets the approved design to include support of First Article Inspections.

6.      Provide general department support such as: maintaining the sample library, producing presentation boards and reference books, build vendor relations, support photo shoots and generating a supply of ready to present design schemes.

7.      Performs other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

1.      Associates Degree in Interior and/or Industrial Design (Bachelor Preferred)

2.      Minimum of two years’ experience in corporate aircraft completions

3.      Minimum of five years’ experience in product design development and build

4.      Proven proficiency in drafting and computer assisted design programs.  AutoCAD proficiency is required

5.      General understanding of supply chains

6.      General understanding of soft good materials

7.      Must represent the company well, be groomed and maintain a professional appearance

8.      Must be willing to travel on a regular basis both domestically and internationally

9.      Valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United Stated is required

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

 

1.      Proficient in: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite

2.      Must have the ability to interact with a wide variety of internal/external cliental

3.      Must be able to communicate technical issues in an assertive and tactful manner

4.      Must possess excellent oral and written skills, as well as, good analytical skills

5.      Result Oriented

6.      Organized

7.      Team oriented

8.      Strong time and priority management

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

The work environment described here is representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.

 

The office building where this position works is a typical office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues in the immediate vicinity of the work station. The employee in this position will experience occasional outdoor exposure to heat, cold, and environmental elements when called upon to locate personnel working inside or outside of a Hangar.
