Satair, an Airbus Services company, has signed a five-year global distribution agreement with Mercury Products for its Airchair I and Airchair II on-board wheelchairs.
The Airchair I model has been in operation on board airlines since 2007, and the Airchair II model is an evolution of the design, developed to comply with the latest US Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations on accessibility. The lightweight Airchairs enable passengers with reduced mobility to access aircraft lavatories during flight.
Matt Jessee, head of business development at Satair, commented: “This agreement with Mercury Products for their Airchair products represents an important step in broadening our cabin portfolio with increased passenger-centric solutions. By ensuring global availability of Airchair’s innovative products, we are supporting airlines in meeting regulatory requirements while helping to deliver a more dignified travel experience for all passengers.”
