Innovative seating ideas imminent from HAECO

April 10, 2017 – A double-hinge headrest has been created by HAECO Cabin Solutions that is claimed to support the head and neck better than static and articulating headrests. The design consists of a five-segment, articulating-joint cushion system with adjustable tilt and height, which the company says reduces head movement.

The headrest is available as part of HAECO’s Vector seating platform or for retrofit on existing seats. Indeed it is available on the Vector Premium, a single-aisle business class seat that is the newest member of the Vector seating platform.

The Vector Premium has a carbon fiber back and seat pan, along with part-count minimization that HAECO claims makes it one of the lightest, most comfortable seats in its class. Other ergonomic features include a 8in recline and a 60° legrest.

Mark Peterman, president of HAECO Cabin Solutions, said, “An entirely new styling ethic will be used within the Vector narrow-body business class, which takes its inspirations from the Cubism art movement. The Vector design will create a substantial presence and sense of opulence inside the aircraft cabin.”

The first delivery of Vector Premium is expected during the second quarter of 2018.
