Around the world, carriers such as Porter Airlines have chosen the Embraer E195-E2

Diehl Aviation has won the Interior category of this year’s Embraer Best Supplier Awards. The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer – a long-standing partner of Diehl – commended the company’s design innovation, usability and system architecture, as well as the quality of its products and the reliability of its supply chain.

The awards ceremony took place during the Embraer Supplier Conference at the company’s Gavião Peixoto (GPX) facility in Brazil. During the event, Embraer said it also appreciates Diehl Aviation’s expertise in developing sustainable products to enhance the eco-efficiency of aviation.

“We have enjoyed a close and successful partnership with Embraer. Winning the coveted Best Supplier Award in the interior category makes us very proud. It is not only a recognition for our performance, but also the result of the great commitment and dedication of every single employee in our company. It is a very special honour for the entire Diehl team to receive this award for our long-standing and reliable cooperation,” said Dr Jörg Schuler, CEO of Diehl Aviation. “We are committed to supporting Embraer with our operational excellence, quality and innovations – all along the value chain.”

The collaboration between Embraer and Diehl Aviation spans more than 15 years. Since 2008, the company has been supplying the recirculating toilet assembly and the water systems for the Embraer Phenom 100/300. Since 2015, Diehl has also been supplying a product package for the Embraer E-Jet E2 family, consisting of the cabin lighting system, the passenger service Unit, the emergency lighting system, and the cabin management system.

Embraer recognised the best suppliers of the year across 10 categories Embraer also introduced the status of ‘Preferred Supplier’ to the 10 awarded companies (see below), all of which will also be eligible to be part of Embraer Suppliers Advisory Council (ESAC), an advisory group that promotes debate on trends and strategic topics, with the aim of strengthening alliances to leverage business opportunities with the company.

During the conference it was also announced the new organisational structure of the Vice Presidency of Global Procurement and Supply Chain. This reorganisation is intended to create a more integrated and cohesive approach to suppliers’ management and, as such, align the strategy of developing a robust and more resilient supply chain, strengthen Embraer’s business efficiency, and accelerate business growth in a sustainable manner.

Embraer’s supply chain management connects the company’s business needs with base of suppliers located in more than 60 countries. The company has a global purchasing policy that establishes guidelines for the acquisition of goods, services, and industrialisation of products within standards of ethics, sustainability, transparency and compliance.

“We strongly believe that collaboration and resilience in connection with safety first and quality always are the foundations of our supply chain. I sincerely appreciate the suppliers who have demonstrated these values, working consistently to deliver efficiency and generate value for our companies and our industry,” said Roberto Chaves, executive vice-president of global procurement and supply chain at Embraer.
