Air China, the national flag carrier of China and its largest airline, has placed a recurring order for touchscreen IFE displays from Wetouch Technology, a manufacturer of medium to large sized projected capacitive touchscreens.

IFE is a new venture for Wetouch, whose typical applications include displays ranging from 7.0in to 42in in size for use as automotive GPS/ entertainment panels, industrial HMI, financial and banking terminals, point of sale terminals, and lottery and gaming machines. On 20 June, 2020 officials from Air China visited Wetouch’s factory in Chengdu for a factory inspection. The facility passed the inspection and since then Wetouch has reported “an uptick” in purchase orders and deliveries for aviation touchscreens. The company anticipates that this new sales channel will contribute an additional US$5.4 million to its top line in 2021.

“We are very pleased with our inroad to the aviation market and are honoured to be selected as a supplier to Air China for their in-flight entertainment systems and self-service kiosks at airports,” said Guangde Cai, CEO and chairman of Wetouch.

“As China’s flag carrier, Air China is known in China and around the world for its superior and innovative services, as well as leading position in airline industry. We look forward to working closely with Air China and expanding our footprint in the aviation market to service other major airlines.”
