Eurowings, the low-cost subsidiary airline of Lufthansa Group, is launching a new business-class service on medium-haul routes this autumn (fall), with a significant upgrade in cabin product.
The ‘BIZclass’ offer on the airline’s Airbus A320neo aircraft currently consists of three rows of economy triple seats with the middle seat blocked and a higher level of cabin service – a common arrangement in European short haul operations, sometimes referred to as ‘Eurobiz’. This class will continue on short-haul routes.
However, Eurowings is making a meaningful enhancement to its medium-haul service with Premium BIZ, featuring eight proper business-class seats with adjustable backrests and ergonomic design, in a 2-2 seating arrangement – a significantly step-up in comfort and privacy.
The seat is the Comoda model from Geven, the Italian aircraft seat manufacturer which also supplies the airline’s economy seats. Eurowings says it is the first airline in Germany to offer premium seats in smaller narrowbody aircraft such as the A320neo.

Premium BIZ will launch in November 2025, initially on the non-stop Berlin-Dubai route. According to Eurowings the flights in the 2025/26 winter timetable onwards will also serve as market trials of the seat, giving other airlines in the Lufthansa Group important insights for future configurations of new aircraft fleets.
The new seat concept will be bookable from August, as a higher-value option within the Eurowings BIZclass.
Jens Bischof, CEO of Eurowings said of the new offering: “With our new Premium BIZ seat, we offer business travellers and holidaymakers a completely new level of comfort on medium-haul flights. More privacy and a significantly enhanced feel-good atmosphere make longer flights noticeably more pleasant. We are thus setting a new standard in our market segment and clearly positioning Eurowings as Europe’s leading value airline.”
Eurowings itself is preparing the most extensive fleet renewal in its history. Beginning in 2027, the airline will receive 40 new Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft (range: 6,500 km). By that time, with the learnings from Premium BIZ applied in the cabin design.
