On 20th January, Air China’s new A350 cabin designs took flight on the Beijing to Chengdu route. In the business-class cabin, the Air China A350 marks the first entry into service of the Recaro CL6720 seat with an Asian carrier.
Recaro and Air China worked together to create custom comfort and functions, incorporating feedback from both design teams. The seat features customised for Air China include a Chinese-style lamp in each suite, an upper stowage space with a uniquely-crafted drawer, specially-made privacy dividers, and a soft-touch inner backshell designed to fit with the airline branding and cabin scheme.

“The new CL6720 entering into service for the first time in Asia is a special moment for Recaro,” said Dr Mark Hiller, CEO of Recaro Aircraft Seating. “We enjoyed our close collaboration with Air China on this programme, and it resulted in a unique seating product that will be appreciated by so many travellers. Although we take great pride in the hard work that goes into our seat designs, we always remember that it is the passengers who drive our innovations forward.”

Other features specified by Air China for the CL6720 include custom reading lamps and marble-effect surfaces
Air China also selected Recaro’s PL3530 seat for the A350’s premium economy cabin, and the CL3710 for the economy cabins.
