August 5, 2015 – Aircraft lighting specialist STG Aerospace, has completed the installation of a saf-Tglo SuperSeal UltraLite (SSUL) emergency floorpath marking system with OverCarpet and a liTeMood LED cabin lighting system on the Boeing 757-200 operated by DreamJet (trading as La Compagnie). La Compagnie is an all-business service (74 lie-flat seats) which operates scheduled flights to New York from Paris and London.

According to STG, installing both systems means that the different areas of lighting within the cabin are integrated and optimized within an overall cabin aesthetic.

saf-Tglo SSUL is a lightweight photoluminescent alternative to electrical emergency systems. The fully-sealed design eliminates the risk of fluid ingress and reduces maintenance costs by up to 80%, especially since it has no power source.

La Compagnie is the first airline to install the SSUL OverCarpet (OC) option, which features a hinged-wing design that removes the need for any binding of carpet edges.

Yann Poudoulec, EVP technical of La Compagnie commented: “We were delighted by the ease with which the saf-Tglo SSUL and liTeMood systems were installed and by the transformative effect they have had on our B757’s cabin lighting. Operating an all-business class airline means we have to pay particular attention to lighting quality and we’re more than confident that we have made the right choice.”

Marcus Williams, director of sales & marketing at STG Aerospace, added: “Ensuring a successful installation is always of paramount importance to us, especially in this case which is the first time we have completed a combined liTeMood and saf-Tglo installation. It is critical to understand the effect of an LED upgrade on the compliance of the emergency systems.”
