LSG Group’s equipment subsidiary, Spiriant, has received a Red Dot design award for the Lufthansa premium economy tableware series. The tableware is part of the new long-haul service experience which is an upgrade of Lufthansa’s economy class. This exclusive, elegant design features round edges and tapered forms for the bowls and cups. Its modular design ensures that it combines well with different tray sizes, so every last bit of space is utilized.

While celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, the award saw a record 4,928 entries from 56 countries. The Red Dot Gala, which is held in the Aalto-Theater in Essen, Germany, is seen as one of the biggest international design events of the year, honoring the best designers and product design from all over the world.

“After winning the Good Design [award]earlier this year, we are very proud and honored to be recognized by one of the most prestigious design award juries of the world,” said Daniel Knies, design director at Spiriant.
