ABC delivers cabin branding hardware to ITA Airways

Aviation Business Consultants (ABC) International, a Naples-based cabin modifications company, has shared its role in the outfitting of the interiors of ITA Airways’ A319, A320 and A330 aircraft.

This project, which began in early 2023, is a continuation of ABC’s previous collaboration with Alitalia, Italy’s former national airline. The new contract required ABC International to design, certify and manufacture branding logos for cabins across the airline’s entire fleet.

The work for ITA Aiways centres around the airline’s logo, which has been designed by Landor & Fitch, the same design house that designed the Alitalia brand assets in 1969. The logos have been made suitable for flight operations by cabin specialists at ABC, through adjustments aimed at meeting the relevant certification requirements for airworthiness.

The contract has seen ABC create and install 144 branding panels for ITA, which are already flying on 41 ITA Airways aircraft. Specifically there are 33 logos on 11 A319s, 33 logos on 11 A320s, 24 logos on eight A320 neos, 42 logos on seven A330-200s, and 12 logos on four A330-900 neos. The airline plans to install the remaining cabin branding elements over the next months.

Olindo Spatola, VP of engineering and HDO at ABC International said of the project, “To make the logo airworthy, we conceived the lettering without affecting the original design and coloured the metal lettering through an anodising process. Thanks to the optimal synergy between our technical office and the customer, we were able to bring forward the delivery date to the satisfaction of the airline.”

In other ITA news, this year has also seen ABC International, in partnership with Skubin Design, design and implemented two special aircraft liveries for ITA Airways, linked to some significant events for Italy. The first represents Rome’s bid for the World Expo 2030, supported by the airline through the ‘Roma Italia Expo 2030’ decal on an A320, and another decal celebrating the centenary of the Italian Air Force on an A320 neo aircraft.
