Flying Food Group has opened a new inflight catering facility at San Francisco (SFO), which adds production capacity and is designed to optimise workflow efficiency. The 71,000-square-foot (6,600 square meters) single-storey structure includes fully refrigerated dock and production areas.

The facility represents the final phase of Flying Food Group’s US$100 million-plus retrofit and upgrade of its national network of 17 kitchens that stretch across the USA, from Hawaii to New York. Its customers at SFO include Hawaiian Airlines, Japan Airlines, ANA, Air France-KLM and Asiana, among others. The facilities upgrade project also includes new kitchens at Los Angeles and Honolulu and an expanded, renovated kitchen at Miami.
