SkyTender receives FAA TSO and STC approvals

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued SkyTender with TSO (Technical Standard Order) and STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) approvals for its beverage carts in the following categories: structural, systems/electrical, mechanical and flammability.

Following the Approved Model List-STC (similar to multi-model approval where models can be progressively added), SkyTender will be certified for use on all Airbus and Boeing aircraft types, as well as selected Bombardier and Embraer aircraft. The certification complements the company’s recently agreed cooperation with the Swiss specialist in galleys, Bucher Leichtbau AG, and shortens the usual approval and market launch times of three to five years for the new SkyDrinx galley-based beverage system.

SkyTenders says that its mobile beverage trolley and the new galley-based system complement each other, with the potential to replace the on-board beverage service as known today. The system uses a post-mix system to produce and serve hot, cold and carbonated drinks with a single command of the touchscreen.

The system also features tracking and reporting, providing transparency of consumption data as a basis for forecasting and order management to optimize weight, space, waste and over-catering as well as elimination of beverage packing.
