Conetic brings together the digital passenger experience

A new name has entered the IFEC market: Conetic. However, as a holding company, many will be familiar with its portfolio, which comprises Touch Inflight Solutions, Above Aero Media Services, and Oxygen Premium Services. The name Conetic is a portmanteau of ‘connect’ and ‘kinetic’, whosen as they reflect the dynamism and innovation of the transportation industry, the connection between people, and the synergy between the portfolio companies.

So why have they combined? Conetic’s research has found that approximately 80% of a traveller’s overall journey time is often spent as dwell time at the airport – in lounges, eating, boarding – and inflight, making these the longest engagement touchpoints. Over the next decade, Conetic plans to find opportunities in this journey, with a holistic and unified passenger experience offer, and services and products that are fully integrated across the passenger journey. In the short term, Conetic intends drive disruptive innovation to the Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity IIFEC) market and reimagine the role the airport lounge plays in the connected world.

The three companies can handle different parts of a passenger’s digital journey, with Touch Inflight Solutions specialising in media curation and licencing, IFE experience design, and management of digital platforms with data-driven media to enhance the travel experience and ancillary revenues. Above Aero Media Services specialises in Cloud-based management of media assets, automating and streamlining the supply chain between media owners and digital platforms across passenger transportation. Meanwhile Oxygen Premium Services handles the design, development and management of airport lounge facilities, including airport experience design and premium passenger-assistance services.

“The brands under the group share a synergy of core values – care and service, trust, agility, and knowledge – that have been key to the success of Touch and Above and that underpin Conetic’s approach to its relationships and commitment to its customers, partners, suppliers and staff alike,” stated Joe Carreira, Conetic’s CEO. “We recognise the long term benefits and stable growth that result from such a commitment to all the players in the ecosystem”

As part of its strategy, Conetic plans to promote increased connection across 40+ combined customers, promote management efficiency, create brand equity, and enable faster business growth.

The portfolio will consolidate strategic functions, executives and management teams under Conetic, including finance, business development, customer experience and human resources. Its executive leadership team will share responsibilities across the portfolio. Joe Carreira will serve as CEO at Conetic with additional positions as CEO at Touch and Oxygen, and board director at Above. Mariana Levy will serve as head of customer experience at Conetic, Touch, and Oxygen. Andre Valera will serve as vice president of business development at Conetic, Touch and Oxygen, and co-managing director at Above. Daniel Costa will serve as group finance director across all companies.
