Diehl strengthens infrastructure

Diehl Aerosystems has inaugurated a new Euro10m logistics center at its Laupheim facility in Germany. The facility is primarily designed to manage the increased demand for parts logistics for Diehl Aircabin activities in Laupheim.

According to the company, between 2012 and 2016, business volume at Laupheim doubled, from around Euro350m to almost Euro700m, mainly due to the production ramp-up for the Airbus A350 XWB program. For this aircraft program, Diehl Aircabin in Laupheim supplies 15 work packages, including cabin linings, luggage compartments, crew rests, and air conditioning pipework.

The new logistics building covers an area of around 7200 square meters and comprises a high-bay warehouse with a capacity of around 5,000 spaces, as well as picking and dispatch areas, and a dispatch office.
