IFPL offers retrofit in-seat power system

0

Cobalt Aerospace, part of the IFPL Group, has launched a service for in-seat power systems, intended to offer a simple and cost-effective buying process for operators looking for something to suit their fleet.

The offer is based around the company’s In-Seat Power System (ISPS), an all-in-one retrofit solution that includes everything required to add in-seat power to any aircraft, whether for one row of seats or an entire fleet. Customers are able to choose anything from individual outlets to a comprehensive retrofit package, including power supplies, cabling and wiring harnesses.

The range of available USB outlets will be supplied by IFPL, with each outlet incorporating easy and rapid on-wing replacement thanks to an innovative cartridge design.

Among the power outlets available is the Reversible USB-A Module, a unique port design that allows the user to input a connector either way up, delivering bi-directional charging power.

Cobalt’s partnership with IFPL (IFPL acquired Cobalt Aerospace in 2021) give customers access to the AdPower USB Module, which combines in-seat power with an on-board revenue generation opportunity. AdPower offers passengers the option to purchase power, or watch advertising in exchange for power. AdPower works alongside an operator’s app and is customisable.
