AERQ has received AS/EN 9100, an industry-specific, globally harmonised standard for aerospace certifying that all quality management system requirements are met.

AERQ is a joint venture between LG Electronics and Lufthansa Technik, founded in 2019 and based in Hamburg, that combines the respective expertise in consumer electronics and aviation of both companies to develop digital solutions for aircraft cabins. AS/EN 9100 was developed by the International Aerospace Quality Group to ensure certified companies’ products are safe and reliable for use in the aviation, space and defence industries. The certification process assessed the company’s development, production and sales activities, with an extensive third-party audit verifying the results.

AERQ says the certification will enable it to design and develop more products for the aerospace industry and open up possibilities to participate in new projects.

“The achievement of this standard is a significant milestone in AERQ’s strategic road map as it not only confirms our serious position in the aerospace market, but it is also a key foundation block upon which to build the aerospace business”, stated Arnd Kikker, co-managing director at AERQ.
