Icelandair has taken delivery of its first Airbus A321LR, marking a milestone for the airline. The delivery is also a key moment for Geven, the Italian aircraft seating manufacturer, as it represents the first implementation of its Elemento economy-class seat on a narrowbody aircraft.
Icelandair A321LR passengers in business class will also enjoy a Geven design. The airline has selected the latest evolution of the New Comoda – Materia Pack seat, which has been customised to reflect the airline’s brand identity. This bespoke version includes enhanced features such as cradle functionality, a spacious central console with storage space, and design elements for increased luxury and privacy.
The A321LR delivery also marks the first integration of Panasonic Avionics’ Astrova IFE system with Geven seats. The business-class seats are equipped with 16in Astrova OLED seatback monitors, with 13.3in displays in economy.
Geven’s cooperation with Panasonic began in July 2023, and within 12 months, the seats with integrated IFE were successfully certified in a short lead time for both the Comoda – Materia Pack and Elemento models.
