Virgin Atlantic scrubs up with clean beauty brands

Virgin Atlantic says it has become the first airline to create a wellness programme designed to help customers feel their best. The airline has partnered with REN Clean Skincare for products in the Upper Class amenity kit and Clubhouse lounge bathrooms, and has also introduced Aveda haircare products into its Clubhouse showers and spas. Virgin Atlantic also offers products and treatments in its Wellness Spas, using natural clean and green brands, de Mamiel and Dr Hauschka.

Beyond beauty and cleansing products, the wellness programme also offers on-board content to customers, focusing on mental and physical wellbeing. Virgin Atlantic’s new programme includes dedicated channels on the inflight entertainment (IFE) system, including bespoke podcasts from Headspace, Mindfulness Music, ASMR and sleep casts. Content also includes exercise videos from Team Body Project, designed to improve circulation and aid sleep during flight.

Rebecca Creer, spas and wellness manager at Virgin Atlantic stated,“We want our customers to feel their best when they travel with us, right from the start of their journey to when they land. We recognise the importance of mental and physical wellbeing and we are always looking for new ways that we can support our customers. We’re proud to partner with brands that are forward thinking and share our passion and vision, caring for both people and the environment.”

Commenting on the company’s products, Arnaud Meysselle, CEO of REN Clean Skincare said,“As pioneers of clean, it’s our pleasure to partner with Virgin Atlantic to provide in-flight skincare products in recycled and recyclable packaging, alongside our ‘Zero Waste by 2021’ pledge. We were pleased to see that they were as passionate as we are when it comes to clean beauty and caring for the environment”.

Luke Evans, VP of Aveda UK and Ireland, added,“It is with great excitement and pride that Aveda are partnering with Virgin Atlantic to provide customers with the very best in sustainable, naturally-derived ingredients and high performing haircare. We are thrilled to be offering express services and sustainably packaged product to suit everyone’s needs, offering them a moment of wellness on their journey.’’
